The Expert Advisory Panel appointments were made by the Chief Minister under section 4 of the Inquiries Act.
The Expert Advisory Panel reported to the Minister for Health and Attorney-General, following the public consultation process, with recommendations for the development of an alcohol harm reduction framework.
On 11 April 2017, Cabinet approved the appointment of an Expert Advisory Panel comprising of local experts in the fields of addiction, alcohol-related harm, regulation and policing, the liquor industry, Aboriginal issues and social welfare policy.
Mr Trevor Riley has been appointed as the Expert Advisory Panel Chair for the Alcohol Policies and Legislation Review, with Professor Richard Matthews, Ms Trish Angus and Mr Denys Stedman as panel members.
The Expert Advisory Panel undertook public consultations between May and August 2017.
